Earring Size Guide

There is nothing to size on a pair of studs — no length, no fit, no measuring. The only choice that changes how they look is the weight of the stones.

How big is each stone?

Carat total weight is shared across both ears, so a 1.0 ct tw pair is roughly 0.5 ct in each ear. These are the diameters per stone — what you actually see on the lobe.

Total weight Each stone How it reads
0.5 ct tw 3.4 mm Quiet. Sits close to the ear.
1.0 ct tw 4.4 mm Everyday. The most common choice.
1.5 ct tw 5.0 mm Noticeable without announcing itself.
2.0 ct tw 5.5 mm Catches light across a room.
3.0 ct tw 6.3 mm A statement pair.

Which weight to choose

Most people choose 1.0 to 1.5 ct tw for daily wear. Above 2.0 ct tw the studs sit heavier on the lobe, which is worth knowing if they are meant to be worn from morning to night.

Carat is weight, not width: a 3.0 ct tw pair is not three times wider than a 1.0 ct tw pair — it is about 1.4 times.
